I decided to animate my previous seaworld project. I went and explored some modifiers on my own, such as the relax modifier in order to create the illusion of the puffer fish blowing up, as opposed to going in and selecting every single point on the fish. The movement of the octopus was interesting to simulate, I had him jet up and around by contracting and then relaxing his tentacles and then decided he might try to maintain a sort of stasis by slowly flexing his tentacles one by one. The hardest part was trying to fill 60 seconds of animation. The anchor was limited in any sort of realistic interaction with other objects but I decided that it might be okay if it sort of slid into the sand and startled the puffer fish into swimming away. I relied heavily upon the instructions in the book for most of this project. I was not able to upload the original .avi to the student server due to the file size so I had to convert it to a .wmv which caused some loss of video quality. Please let me know if this is a problem or if you will take points off because of this so that I can find a way to deliver you the higher quality .avi.
